The wide, flowing arch is meant to convey the freedom of open-plan living rooms, while also inviting one to lazily "immerse" in softness – precisely the kind of softness that makes the owners later say they're sitting "on a cloud." Before even a single module is created, the entire team works on a 1:10 scale, gluing foam models and testing whether the shape remains harmonious in every direction. Only then does a full-size beech frame with wavy springs and a layer of highly elastic foam covered with silicone fluff appear on the plan – a patent guaranteeing a pleasant "sinking" effect but without deformation.

When the design meets rigorous tests – from impact tests to several days of “camping” on the prototype by the designers themselves – modularity comes into play; today the Rio collection includes as many as49 items, which allow you to build a compact sofa, a cozy corner sofa, or a monumental U-shape, with each module connecting to the next as smoothly as a Rapidograph line on tracing paper. The designers make no secret of their inspiration for the freedom of design by Brazilian modernists from Rio de Janeiro—hence the name—and the dream of a piece of furniture that adapts to the rhythm of life as flexibly as a city between mountains and ocean.

This is how Rio is created, a sofa-idea in which every stitch remembers the first, hand-drawn line, and each configuration reminds us that design is a dialogue between form, function and a touch of Brazilian fantasy.

This sculpture requires a fabric that will play a leading role. The first muse wasTia– a chenille diva that, thanks to its subtly shimmering yarn, “dances” with the light and can change its shade depending on the time of day; Magic Home technologies ensure that even an afternoon coffee leaves no trace. When the design requires a more sculptural texture, they reach forMajesté-Woven from thick, twisted threads on a matte base, the bouclé accentuates Rio's soft curves and adds artistic depth to the interior. And because AlmiDécor, Fargotex, and Carpet Decor speak the same language, a hand-woven rug can complete the setting.Spot Beige: an oval made of a wool and tencel blend, whose blurred pattern deliberately contrasts with the expressive geometry of the modules, bringing out even more light and shadow from them.
