A championship celebration
The World Cup is coming up, so there will be no shortage of emotions and opportunities to celebrate. Let's celebrate these moments in style and toast in elegant glass. The variety of glasses and tumblers can make your head spin. So if you're wondering what to serve a particular drink in while watching the games with friends, check out our guide.
Champagne glasses
They are also called flutes or ears of corn. They are slender and narrow towards the top so that the champagne can gas out as slowly as possible. We always hold these glasses by the stem so as not to heat the alcohol poured into them. We should fill them with chilled champagne to ¾ of its height.
Wine glasses
In the case of this alcohol, we distinguish between red and white wine glasses. Red wine glasses have a larger and wider bowl, slightly narrowing towards the top. They are quite large and bulging. Thanks to this, the aroma and flavor of the wine are better extracted.
White wine glasses, on the other hand, have a slender, slightly tapering bowl or a tulip-shaped one. We fill them halfway.
Glasses for vodka, brandy and cognac
Shot glasses for vodka usually have a capacity of 30 to 60 ml. They can be on a stem or resemble mini glasses. We should fill them so that about 3-5 mm remains to the rim.
Cognac and brandy are served in bulging glasses with short stems. We hold them by the bowl to slightly heat the alcohol and extract its wonderful aroma. We fill them to ¼ of the height.
Whiskey glasses
The glasses for this alcohol are short, squat and have thick bottoms and walls that act as thermal insulation. They can be bulging, square or cylindrical. We fill them to ¼ of their height.
Liqueur glasses
They are small, slim and have a thin stem by which we hold them. They look like miniature wine glasses.
Long drink glasses
Alcoholic cocktails should be served in slim, large and tall glasses. They should be filled to about 2 cm to the rim. Juices or carbonated drinks can also be served in them.
Beer glasses
There are many types of glass for serving specific types of beer. Most often, we serve them in tall glasses, goblets or mugs. The right shape should hold the foam for as long as possible, and the stem or handle should prevent the drink from heating up.
Useful accessories
If we want to organize a party or event where we will serve different types of alcohol, it is also worth stocking up on useful accessories - a corkscrew, coolers in which we will cool the drinks, shakers, carafes or decanters, i.e. special carafes with a filter.
