The paintings from the Palatio collection represent drawings of two gems of French architecture, the châteaux of Fontainebleau and Chambord, by an unknown author.
Chateau de Fointainebleau, a former royal palace about 55 kilometers south of the historic center of Paris. The history of the castle dates back to the 12th century. Currently, it has a Renaissance-Mannerist appearance. French painters and the elite of Italian architects and sculptors were associated with the creation of this residence. On the other hand, Chateau de Chambord - the largest of the castles in the Loire Valley. Referring to Gothic defensive castles, it was built in the 16th century. It is one of the greatest works of Renaissance architecture, and its silhouette is one of the most recognizable.
