DESCRIPTION
Designed in 1982, Reflex lamps were a rarity on the socialist market. They stood out with their solid workmanship and simple style. Once hand-made by small craftsmen, today they are produced in small series using modern technologies and high-class materials. Reflex lamps are made of high-quality, thick steel. They lit up thousands of Polish homes, becoming an icon of Polish design of those years. They starred on the sets of films by Krzysztof Kieślowski and Stanisław Bareja. Production of the original design from the 1980s was resumed under the TAR brand, which consists of selected designs designed by Tomasz A. Rudkiewicz from 1980 to the present. TA Rudkiewicz, an industrial designer, has been designing lamps since the early 1980s, and was named Designer of the Year by the Institute of Design. The Reflex lamp series received the 'must have' distinction at the Łódź Design Festival 2015.
