CLEANING VISCOSE RUGS

CARE FOR VISCOSE RUGS

1. Vacuum with a nozzle without a brush, moving in the direction of the pile.
2. Viscose fibers are naturally shiny and smooth to the touch, so the suction power during vacuuming should not be too high to avoid excessive shedding of the pile.
3. A natural characteristic of viscose rugs is "pilling," meaning viscose fibers coming out of the pile. The pilling process can be particularly intense in cut pile rugs and rugs with cut patterns where the pile height varies. This is a natural process and can last up to six months; it is not grounds for a complaint. Some fibers may come out halfway. Such fibers should be trimmed with scissors.
4. Viscose fiber reacts poorly to water and liquids. Spilled liquids should be immediately blotted with a paper towel or a highly absorbent cloth. Then, lift the pile with your fingers, straighten it, and arrange it in the direction of the rest of the dry pile. If not straightened and arranged properly, viscose fiber will dry in its old position. The pile in the area of the spill/stain, after cleaning with water and drying, may change its elasticity and reflect light differently. Therefore, the area after a water-cleaned stain may look different from the rest of the rug. This is a natural property of viscose products. Therefore, only professional rug cleaning is allowed at establishments with experience in washing viscose rugs, most often using a dry method.
5. If the rug gets wet, dry it flat in a well-ventilated room or outdoors in favorable weather conditions.
6. To avoid indentations in the pile, periodically move furniture.
7. Do not use chemicals or bleaches.
8. Exposure of the rug to sunlight can cause the rug to fade. Avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight.

GOOD TO KNOW

1. Viscose is a fiber produced from wood cellulose and mimics silk. Viscose perfectly replaces silk products, retaining its natural properties such as luster and a very pleasant, soft feel.
2. Handmade viscose fiber rugs are characterized by their elasticity. Rugs may slightly change their shape during use. For example, strong pulling on the rug or moving furniture on it may cause a slight change in its shape/outline. This change is reversible. Since rugs made of viscose fiber are naturally elastic, this is a normal phenomenon and is not subject to complaint.
3. Rugs from the Handmade collection are handmade, mostly from natural fibers, so each one is original and unique. For this reason, slight differences in color, size, or pattern may occur between them. This is not grounds for a complaint.
